Liz Riemer was a cherished native of East Aurora who dedicated much of her life to the First Presbyterian Preschool community. Her connection to the preschool began in 2001, and over the years, she became an integral part of the school's fabric. Liz’s own two children attended the preschool, and she was deeply involved as a parent, serving on the Preschool Board and teaching Music with Mar classes for six years.

In 2008, Liz was hired as a teacher in the Sunshine Room, where she had the joy of working with children aged 3, 4, and 5. Before joining the preschool, Liz had a rich career as an elementary school teacher, Reading Specialist, and staff developer. She held a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, was certified in Elementary Education (K-6), and earned her Master’s Degree in the Teaching of Reading, Nursery-12. Her passion for early literacy was further demonstrated through extensive training, including Reading Recovery.

In 2019, Liz was appointed Preschool Director, a role she embraced with enthusiasm and commitment. In addition to her leadership duties, she continued to serve as the lead teacher for the 4/5 class. Liz often described her classroom as one of her “happy places,” reflecting the joy and care she brought to her work with the children and families of the preschool. Her legacy of dedication, warmth, and expertise has made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working with her.
