Curriculum

We provide a balance between independent play and structured group activities.  Each room is equipped with many types of hands-on materials for active participation.

Beyond the seasons and holidays, we teach our children about the world around us using various themes. The possibilities are endless, so we choose topics of interest to the children and incorporate concept development.

Goals

  • Stimulate personal growth in a group setting.

  • Promote a positive self-image.

  • Encourage creativity and imagination.

  • Develop independence.

  • Develop language and listening skills.

  • Provide opportunities to expand motor skills.

  • Develop early literacy and math skills.

Classes Offered

Each preschool class has their own classroom allowing for age-appropriate curriculum and learning materials for that age group.

In addition to fundamental core learning, students will enjoy:

  • Music classes (Sprouts Music with Ms. Bridget)

  • Exercise and playtime in our large indoor gym and outdoor playground

  • Special events including:

Additional Programs to Prepare Your Children for Future Learning

Begindergarten (March and April, Star Room)

  • One-of-a-kind kindergarten readiness class. Students stay for an extended day to participate in lunch, recess, and academic learning stations through which they rotate in a small group to incorporate independent and cooperative learning.

  • Begindergarten has a heavy academic focus and mimics how a Kindergarten classroom operates. It is a good indicator as to how students will perform in a Kindergarten setting.

  • Additional tuition for Begindergarten.

  • Parent-Teacher conferences are offered after completion of this program to discuss the best path forward.

Lunch Bunch (Once A Month, December - April)

  • Students can sign up to bring a lunch and stay for lunch and play. This is strictly a social time that provides an opportunity for both classes to spend time together playing and socializing. It is a wonderful way to offer parents/caretakers more time to do whatever they need to do during the day.
    *Additional fee applies.

“Spirit of Giving” Campaign

Our goal is to cultivate kindness and empathy by serving our neighbors in need. We have helped various organizations: Veterans, Foster Love Closet, FISH, and Sleep in Heavenly Peace, just to name a few.  It is heartwarming to see the children’s excitement when they see the mounds of donations that are collected.

Assessments

Parent-Teacher conferences are offered to let parents know how their child is adjusting to the preschool setting, socially, emotionally, and academically. Although these conferences are not mandatory, we highly encourage parents to take advantage of this opportunity.

  • Sunshine Room (3s) -October

  • Star (4/5) – January

  • You may request a conference at any time throughout the year.

Parent Participation/Fundraisers

Parents are encouraged to participate in our preschool program. We ask for help assisting with parties, field trips, and other functions. You are welcome to assist in projects or play with the children on special days. We encourage you to sign up to help when needed.

  • Preschool Board

    • Parents serve in various positions and help make decisions regarding the preschool alongside the preschool director.  This is a terrific way for parents to get to know each other and be involved with their children’s learning.

    • Positions: Treasurer, Registrar, Fundraiser, Family Events Planner, Secretary, NYS Immunizations, and Scholastic Books Coordinator.

Fundraisers

  • Approximately 3 per year; while not mandatory for families, we do encourage our families to participate as funds raised will support and enhance the overall preschool experience, program, equipment, and materials.
